Latex International Study Reveals Side Sleepers' Preferences
Participants chose the Talalay latex hybrid as their preference four times more often than memory foam and two times more often than any polyfoam.
A newly released study by Jackson Associates revealed that a majority of side sleepers, who represent nearly 60-percent of the U.S. adult population, prefer and find that Talalay latex is the most supportive and pressure relieving bedding option and sleep experience.
Researchers asked more than 100 side sleepers to lay on a series of three hybrid beds, one featuring three inches of Talalay latex atop coils, a second featuring three inches of memory foam atop coils and a third bed featuring three inches of polyfoam atop coils. Participants chose the Talalay latex hybrid as their vote four times more often than memory foam and two times more often than any polyfoam.
“We made this investment to better understand consumer preferences,” said Latex International President and CEO Dave Fisher, whose company commissioned the study. “This blind trial confirmed what we have known for some time. The majority of participants preferred the Talalay latex hybrid bed over either a memory foam hybrid or a polyfoam hybrid – that’s a huge result and will significantly help retailers and manufactures alike build meaningful offerings and promote a range of feels and technologies.”
