At Pleasant Mattress we believe in actively seeking out sustainability programs that have both a measurable and meaningful impact to improve our environment as well as our everyday lives.

We also feel it is important be fully transparent by explaining what our certifications are actually for, why it matters, our achievements, and our future goals.

WHAT IT IS

The Sleep Products Sustainability Program was created to help mattress manufacturers operate environmentally responsible and sustainable facilities. It is a voluntary program designed to empower mattress manufacturers with tools, training, and resources to implement sustainable practices throughout their organization.

The goal of the program is to enable manufacturers to examine all waste streams from their operations, then measure, and systematically reduce the negative environmental impacts of their operations and supply chain. 

WHY IT MATTERS

Pleasant Mattress is committed to improving the environment, society, and the economy by taking positive action against the impacts on consumers, our community and our employees. We believe we can be an important catalyst in the mattress industry’s sustainability efforts by sharing our measurable environmental improvements and cost efficiencies.

Pleasant Mattress, has received the Sleep Products Sustainability Program (SP2) certification from the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC), becoming the first U.S.-based manufacturer to achieve this distinction.

ACHIEVEMENTS

2021: Verified a 10% reduction in energy used as well as a 10% reduction in waste generated.

Goals

2022 Goals: Upgrading the factory to energy saving LED lighting and adding energy efficient air compressors.
