FRESNO, Calif. -- Pleasant Mattress is taking its new hybrid bedding line to the max. Make that the MAXX.
The Bedding producer, based here, says its new MAXX line, available in eight styles and designed and built by its in-house team, is engineered with a "sag free engineered support structure" of heavy-wire coils and ultra high-density foams. The goal: Give retailers beds that will stay in consumers' homes, thereby lowering the mattress returns. "We're beyond excited to introduce Maxx to the marketplace," said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO of Pleasant Mattress. "Our more than 55 years of building mattresses have given us great insight into how to craft a well-made, supportive and long lasting bed. Mattress returns due to body impressions are not good for the retailer or for the manufacturer. We've constructed Maxx with components that will hold up and lower those return rates.
Three families of mattress designs make up the Maxx collection. The Mac. Conform collection is built upon a special foam encased "Samson" spring unit of individually wrapped coils. The Max. Support collection also features foam-encased heavy-wire coils in a hinge-flex double offset configuration. Max. Support and Max. Conform are available in Euro Top, firm, and plush models. Max. Response, also based on the "Samson" coil, features a specialty sleep format wth a non-quilted top panel. The Max. Response also uses a new 3Mesh ventilating layer on the sleeping surface for engineered air-flow. It is available in plush and luxury firm, the company said.
The sag-free support structure is topped with layers of ultra high-density foam and 100% natural Talalay latex. The comfort layers are topped with a soft-touch top layer of four-way stretch knit with an under layer of natural New Zealand Joma wool and high-density convoluted foam, the company said. Maxx beds are priced to retail from $1,499 to $2,499 in queen.
"We looked to adjacent industries for inspiration in the design and presentation of this brand," Morgenstern said. "By bringing style and materials from other industries into Maxx we are breaking the mold of boring mattresses." The Maxx brand is supported by a newly launched website at MaxxMattress.com.
Pleasant Mattress, formerly Cannon Sleep Products, is an independent, family-owned mattress supplier. The company was founded in 1959 as the Pleasant Bag Co. The company is a licensee and manufacturer of the Spring Air brand, and also produces its own bedding lines. Pleasant Mattress produces traditional mattresses, specialty sleep products, and futons in its 150,000-square-foot facility in Fresno.
