FRESNO, Calif. – Cannon Sleep Products is returning to its roots with its rebranding initiative bringing focus back to its corporate name of Pleasant Mattress, Inc., which harkens back to the company’s founding name of Pleasant Bag Co. formerly located on Pleasant Avenue in Fresno, Calif. As part of the rebranding, Pleasant Mattress has unveiled a new, updated logo that highlights the company’s 1959 beginnings.
“We see great things ahead,” said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO of Pleasant Mattress. “By bringing focus back the Pleasant Mattress name, we’re giving a nod to the strong foundation built by the two generations that came before. The fundamentals on which the company was built – hard work, creativity, and resourcefulness – remain as sound in our business today as they ever were.”
The Cannon Sleep Products name was developed in the 1980s as a house brand for the company. Now that the company has evolved into a brand portfolio company, including Spring Air, Chattam & Wells, Maxx, Cannon, a number of private label brands and others, there was some confusion between the company and the brands.
“This is about saying Pleasant Mattress is the company that has been around since 1959 and is built to last through the ages,” Morgenstern said. “Pleasant Mattress is the service and support brand, and we have a portfolio of brands that we manufacture with great quality and care. These brands give our customers a competitive advantage and put dollars on their bottom line, but Pleasant Mattress is the company our customers can depend on.”
The company’s new logo features a clean font in a crisp navy blue set in white that highlights the Pleasant name atop the word mattress. A stylized monogram of white inset in navy features the Pleasant Mattress initials – PM – positioned in the center of the company’s birth year, touting the company’s 57-year history.
“Our rebranding takes us full circle and solidifies our foundation for the future,” said Herb Morgenstern, chairman of Pleasant Mattress. “We look forward to the next chapters as Pleasant Mattress continues to grow and prosper.”
The third-generation, family-owned mattress and sleep products manufacturer is steeped in history and boasts a strong legacy with deep roots in the Central Valley of California. The company is poised to boost its regional strength through factory investment, product introductions and ingenuity.
Pleasant Mattress, formerly Cannon Sleep Products, is an independent, family-owned mattress supplier in the Western United States. The company employs 130 people and has been in business since 1959 when it was founded as the Pleasant Bag Co. The company is a licensee and manufacturer of the Spring Air brand. The company produces traditional mattresses, specialty sleep products and futons in its 150,000-square-foot facility in Fresno, Calif. For additional information visit www.CannonSleep.com .
